The goal is to discover, or help prove, through DNA testing, the relationship of all Finkle's (and the many derivative spellings) worldwide. One family of interest are the descendants of Johann Philip Finckel born about 1680 in Germany and who immigrated to New York in 1710. His descendants migrated from Dutchess,County, New York to other counties in Upstate New York, also Ontario, Canada, Pennsylvania and eventually to many other states. There are six people who have been Y-DNA tested in this subgroup. Another family of interest are the descendants of George Fengel born about 1725 in Germany and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania in 1749. His descendants migrated to Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and then to many other places further west. There are many Finkel's of Russian and Eastern Europe heritage who should not hesitate to join the Project as well. You will also find Member Pedigrees In the Results tab.
