About us

Our objective is to define the Ferree Family Y SNP tree for descendants of Daniel Ferree and Marie Warenbuer who were French Huguenots. Daniel Ferree (LaVerre) was born about 1646 in Picardy, France. Marie was born in Loire, France in 1650. They had six children (Daniel, Catherine, Jane, John, Mary/Marie and Philip). With the revocation of the Edict of Nantes (1685), and the subsequent persecution of Huguenots, the family fled their home in Landau, Bavaria, which was then part of France. It is believed that Daniel died in the Palatinate in about 1707. Marie and her children left Europe for New Paltz, NY in 1710 and arrived in Pennsylvania in 1712. See http://www.ferreedescendants.com/ for more information.

Thus far with six BigY testers we have identified that we are R1b-U106 and that our SNP tree is:
U-106/S21> Z381/S263> Z156/S264> Z306/Z307> Z304> DF96/S1809> FGC23212> FGC23205> FGC23207.
FGC23207 thus far is the unique Ferree SNP.

Our sincerest thanks to the experts of the R1b-U106 Group (https://www.familytreedna.com/public/U106) for providing the expertise for our endeavor.
