The Feain name is thought to have originated in Limerick, Ireland. It might have been spelt Fehan,Feehan or Fean. When it came to Australia in 1865, it was Fean but later changed to Feain and is still in only small numbers. The first object of this project is to see if the various Feain/Fehan/Feehan lines have a common link or if they are from diverse sources.
