About us
The purpose of the Fairbanks DNA Project is to test and compare DNA results to determine which families are related and have common ancestors. Anyone who is a descendant of a Fairbanks ancestor is invited to participate in the Project. In the event the researcher is a female or a male who does not carry the Fairbanks surname those researchers should try to find a male relative to participate who does carry the Fairbanks surname.
A few of our goals are:
To recruit individuals who descend from all the known branches of the Fairbanks family to participate in Y-DNA testing to determine if the various Fairbanks branches are related and if so how and where they connect.
To supplement, with genetic evidence, the genealogical research of Fairbanks families who have pedigrees that are confirmed with well documented paper trails. To compare the genetic markers of those researchers with others who lack a definite paper trail and hopefully help the Fairbanks family without the documented paper trail to identify their ancestor.
To help Fairbanks researchers prove or disprove theories regarding their family history or ancestry.
To give participants another tool to help break down the "brick wall" that hinders them from moving forward with their research
