About us

The Project began in June, 2002 with the first profile being received in September, 2002. As interest developed, we gained volunteers from England and Australia. Their surname spellings of Evered/Everard reflected the earliest origins of the surname.

This project focuses on patrilineal (Y-DNA) studies of the Everett surname and related surnames and variants, including (but not limited to):
Everett/Everette
Everitt/Everitte
Averett/Averette
Averitt/Averitte
Everard
Evered
Evers
Evatt

It has become a truly international project with DNA volunteers from across the United States and Canada, and ongoing research groups seeking to identify the lines of the earliest Everetts in the US and their origins in Europe.

The project was originally hosted on the Everett Generations website. These are the links to the original DNA-related pages on the Everett Generations website:

These DNA-related pages on the Everett Generations website are no longer maintained and are quite out-of-date.

Craig A. Everett, the original Everett DNA Project Administrator and creator of the Everett Generations website, passed away unexpectedly in July 2017. The Admin link above to ca.everett@aol.com is not operative and should not be used. We are working with Family Tree DNA to have it removed.

The DNA project is being administered since December 2017 on the Family Tree DNA servers by Wendy Dillenschneider and her husband Greg Liverman. Wendy's mom was Bette Everett of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Both Wendy and Greg have a deep passion for genetic genealogy and lecture extensively in Colorado and across the country.
