To date, a match of 36 of 37 markers test on Marty Epp has been realized. A genealogical trace on Marty has been conducted and origins in Baden have been proven. Fritz and Marty descend from cousins Rudolf and Simon respectively. A second Epp line out of the Pfalz area of Germany has been identified. Researchers of that line have proven that the line originates in Austria where it was spelled Opp prior to the mid-1600s. Additional Epp lines have been identified in Switzerland, Bavaria and Alsace-Lorraine (France).
