The Empey & Empie surname project is a Y-DNA research project that tests the Y-DNA of the male line of the Empey & Empie surname and variations.  
These surnames include Empey, Empie, Empy, Emichen, Emich and Emick. 
Therefore this project will show the Y-DNA results of the surnames in this project or having a direct male ancestor of the surnames in this project. 

Also if you have mt-DNA and/or Autosomal DNA results or have an interest in the surnames Empey, Empie & Emichen are welcome to send a join request.  

Others that are interested in belonging to this project would be designated as an interest member of the group. 
The main goal of this project is to link Empey and Empie descendants back to Germany, especially the Palatine region, and France via Y-DNA, including descendants that migrated to Australia, Canada, England, Ireland and U.S.A. 
In particular, the descendants of Johan Ernst Emichen and family who emigrated to N.Y., U.S.A in 1710.
