Egglestons are a diverse group. Although they all originated in England, they are not all of the same family. Some forebears began life named Egleton, Eccleston, Iggulden or other variants and later assumed the Eggleston name. In the US, the majority are descendents of either Richard Eggleston (1635 to VA) or Bigod Eggleston (1630 to CN). If you don't know into which group you fall, DNA testing may help.
