Looking for anyone with a link to the Eaton family of eastern Tennessee, circa 1825. My great grandfather was Eli Eaton+Rebecca Rutledge. They moved to Stoddard County, Missouri, where he passed away in the 1860s. Believed to have been related to the Joseph Eaton family, who also migrated to Stoddard County in the 1850s. As an aside, I have not located an "Eaton" dna match...only "Stephens"

This is just a hunch, I have two Eli Eaton in my tree but nothing more to say they match. Rev George Eaton of Wales to Pa, his line rem to NC and desc's to Tenn, KY, following that line to Jesse Tatum and Martha Holman from benjamin Harbin EAton and Elizb Tatum. this line desed to Bell Ky, and Tenn. if your DNA matches with Glen Lacy Eaton you may find your connection. he is the ggson of Jame Newton Eaton who desc from Rev George line. and a match to my brother Lewis Eaton who desc from Rev Joseph bro to George . hope this helps.

Somehow, I think my Allen line may have "brushed" with this Eaton line, our Allens have slight matches with Eaton and Green(e). I have an autosomal match back to Caleb Green(e) b. 1734 and Catherine Hallock. One match. So that may be a nothingburger. But I have One other match back up through the maternal side to a Jedediah Allen out of Bristol, Mass. There were Eatons in that area as well as Dutchess, New York where many of these Allens show up in the census records of 1790, 1800 and 1810. They all seemed to be in the same area (Allen's, Greens, and I've seen an Eaton or two).

My great Aunt Kleo (Eaton) Andrews-McCarty died 4/8/2019. If anyone knew her or has her in their tree, she is the twin to Keet Eaton.

My brother, Edward Eaton, passed away in 2011, but I still maintain the search through his dna. After searching since 1996, my brick wall is still my gg grandfather: Daniel Eaton born 1803....lived in Scriba NY and then moved to Jo Daviess County, Illinois. We have several close connections on this site---but no positive info on who was our ggg grandfather. Would love to hear from someone who might point the way! Rose Anne (Eaton) Jones

Rose Ann, One thing more to add is that the DNA matches what we call the Reading and Dedham Eatons, settlers to eastern Massachusetts in the early 1600's . The Eaton's were John of Dedham and William and Jonas of Reading. They were 2 brothers and one cousin, whose grandfather William lived in Dover, Kent, England. We have tried several times to reduce the search to just one line, without success. Daniel's wife's name was Lavina, children in 1850 were Daniel jr., Henry, Amos, Vesta, Adelia, & Elizabeth.

Hello, my 10th great grandfather was John Eaton Sr he was from Salisbury, England. He was born around 1595. It shows in my aunt's genealogy research of over 12 years, that, his first child John Jr. Was born in 1619@ the same location as his father and married in Salisbury Essex Massachusetts in 1644. Records show by the time John Sr. Had his third Child in 1626, they were all already in MA. They continued to live in MA until the 4th generation. David Eaton my 6th great grandfather born 1729, married Deborah White in Connecticut (Where she was born.). They moved to Nova Scotia in 1760. I'm going to take pictures if it will let me to maybe help you all be able to trace back farther. I noticed Daniel, Amos, Ruth, Elizabeth, were all commonly used for generations.
