About us
The Duncan Ancestor DNA Project & Name Study is growing. We have over 530 members in Gedmatch
and 25 here in FTDNA. For updates on this project, you can visit
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Duncan_Name_Study. There are now over 40 different Duncan family
lines established in the Donnachaidh Y-DNA study in FTDNA. The goal of this project is to identify which Duncan
family lines belong to which Duncan Subgroup established in the Donnachaidh Y-DNA study, using the subgroups
established there to help us connect our broken branches. In addition, being a name study the aim is to research
the genealogy and family history of all persons with the given surname (and it variants) Duncan worldwide. In the
United States, the first census to show head of household and their family names was in 1850. In process now
is adding Duncan profiles to Wikitree that are listed in the 1850 census.
