The goal of this project is to allow members to couple the use of primary record research with DNA evidence to assist project members in finding, and determining the nature of, new connections and to assist them in learning more about their paternal ancestry. DNA evidence cannot prove how two individuals are connected, only that they are related and share some common Y DNA. Y DNA results are not a substitute for proper research techniques. DNA results are useful, however, in identifying Daniel lines you connect to or, sometimes equally valuable, lines you do not connect to. Lacking direct primary record evidence to prove how those with matching DNA are connected, advanced research and analysis techniques may provide answers.
