About us
In historic documentation, there are three major Curley groups: the Curleys of Ireland, the Norman Curlieu family of England originally from Normandy, and the Scottish Kerley family.
Of the major lineages, DNA testing so far reveals multiple distinct genetic lineages from the Irish midlands area of Roscommon and Galway, an Ulster lineage, and an English Kerley lineage. The Irish midlands lineages likely all belong to the same name lineage which has been fragmented by NPEs. It's not yet clear how the modern English and Ulster genetic groups relate to the historic families of antiquity.
For more information on each of these groups and a more detailed analysis of the DNA test results and documented history, please visit the informative reference website curleysurname.weebly.com.
