Research on the y-DNA haplotype of individuals with the Crandall surname may confirm research on the origins of the family.  It may help in identifying the particular branches of John Crandall’s family.  As such we are interested in y-DNA results, which pass through the male line.  Members on their own may take mitochondrial DNA tests, but, since they go through female lines, they do not pass with the surname and thus are not useful for this project.
