To date: Colleran males carry the Y-DNA haplogroup R1b-L21 and it's sub clade DF21. The oldest known example of R1b-L21-DF21 in Ireland belongs to Rathlin1, one of three bodies found at Rathlin Island dating to circa. 2000 BC. This is a haplogroup that descends from the Bell Beaker folk who ushered in the Bronze Age into Ireland.
