The objectives of the Cockerell Project are four fold:
1. To identify ancestors beyond John Cockrell of Nash Co., NC. 1750-1809
2. To identify if any of the different spellings of the surname are related. i.e. Cockrell, Cockrel, Cockerel, Cockrill, Cockerill, Cockriel, etc.
3. Determine a location for further research.
4. Validate existing research.
