About us

Our Projects purpose is finding ancestral links for the various forms of the 'Case' surname throughout the world. Determining countries of origin including but not limited to England, Ireland, and Germany. We hope Europeans, and others will find ways to test, to reconnect our various lineages! Males may join with a Y-37 or higher kit, when looking for direct paternal matches. Females may obtain Y-37 or higher kits from their father, uncle, brother or Case male cousin. In order to benefit the project, we request all new members provide direct Case lineage, to the earliest known male Case ancestor. Dates of birth, death, location and spouses are requested. Male adoptees who suspect a Case father, etc. may join. All members are encouraged to take the Family Finder DNA test. This is an autosomal fan-chart approach to connecting with cousins. It may be possible for females to connect to existing Y lineages through comparing their cousins. Matching will be most effective if both male, and female members of the project take the Family Finder test. Provide written lineage to a Case ancestor, with associated details helps. It is private and if requested for a particular kit the Administrators will help try to connect the dots. Females or males may order an mtDNA or FGS test for themselves. To join, please included your direct maternal lineage going back to a female ancestor with maiden name Case, including; dob, dod, location and spouses. Knowing the maternal surname changes with each generation makes the results of this test, inherently less useful [for our purposes] than Family Finder. If you have any questions, please contact the Case Project group administrators.
