This Project is so named, to show that this Project is a geographical Project, concerned with the country named Canada, rather than, but, does not exclude (as long as the geographic link is involved in the ancestry of), the family name Canada or and similar sounding family name. This Project is created to assist members to find possible relationships/relatives, via ancestors who have lived in, or passed through, Canada. Members are recommended to undergo the Family Finder Test, and, for males, to also undergo the 37 marker Y-DNA test , in addition to the Family Finder Test, and, if wanted, a higher level (greater number of markers) Y-DNA test (although, the Project Administrator regards the 37 marker level of Y-DNA testing, to be sufficient for Y-DNA testing), and, for females, to at least undergo the Family Finder Test, and, if wanted, an mtDNA test. Beyond the tests recommended above, which are recommendations, and not requirements, and, the expectation that a person's ancestry involves at least one ancestor who lived in, or, passed through, the country named Canada, no requirements are imposed for joining this project.
