This is exclusively a Y-DNA project and is open to anyone who traces their heritage through one of the various spellings of the name Burkholder/Burkhalter with special emphasis on the Swiss origins of this surname. ALSO, anyone whose Y-DNA results demonstrate that their genetic paternal lineage matches with another existing project member, even if the surname does not appear to be related to the Burkholder surname. Please note that this project will not accept requests for enrollment based solely on the autosomal (FTDNA "FamilyFinder") results.
