About us
Prior to relocating from Ancestry.com, the Bürgi DNA Project had found three distinct family groups:
- A Haplogroup I1 group named Burgy with origins possibly in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
- A Haplogroup I2c group including descendants of John Burcky (b.ca. 1777; migrated from Alsace to America in 1835) and descendants of Hugh Parkey (b.ca. 1760; present in Hempfield Township, PA in 1790).
- A Haplogroup R1b-SRY2627 group including descendants of Uli Bürgi (b. 1615 in Biglen, Switzerland).
