The BROOKMAN DNA Project is for all genealogists who wish to participate in a common heritage through DNA testing and sharing of information. This project is important to all who are interested in proving or disproving lineage to the BROOKMAN surname. Many of us have hit a point in our research that is virtually a brick wall with little hope of additional breakthroughs. Y-chromosome DNA has a promise of reducing these hurdles, allowing expansion of our genealogical knowledge. Various spellings (and there are many) of the BROOKMAN surname are welcome. Any reasonable spelling variation, not listed, will be added. Only males have Y-chromosomes, therefore only male BROOKMAN’s (or variant) can participate. If you are a female, you can have a male BROOKMAN (or variant) relative submit a sample for your line. To effectively participate, testees should be willing to share their direct male line back to the first known BROOKMAN (or variant) in the form of a pedigree (excluding living persons.)
