About us

The earliest Broach in Haplogroup I1 we can trace ourselves to so far is Abner Broach, born about 1761 in Chesterfield County, VA, died before 1809 in Darlington County, SC.  Abner was married twice: 1st to “Peanalipy” Surname unknown; 2nd to Sarah Perritt, unknown birth date, died 1860.  Family lore indicates we are of Scottish heritage.

Those people potentially related to us include:

Descendants of Abner’s 12 children: Abner, Jr.; James Evander, Elizabeth, George Washington, William Pierce, Samuel S., Alfred, John, Clarissa, Mary, Robert & Charles.

Broach Contemporaries of Abner, living in VA (primarily King & Queen County) during the mid-1700s: Benoni, Charles, George, James & Jones.

To date, we haven't identified our most recent common ancestor for the Broach of Haplogroup I2 or Broatches of Haplogroup C.
