2015 — Julia Catharine Balabrega born March 13, 1785, baptized in Christ
Church (Phila.) April 11 that year. She married William Penn, a great-
grandson of Pennsylvania's founder. No children. The mother Mary
Balabrega died Nov. 14, 1812 in Philadelphia.
2012 -- existence of Solomon's and Julianna's sister Rosella Balabrega (B abt 1787) discovered.
2011 -- Solomon's father was Jacob Balabrega, born probably 1760-65; Solomon's mother was
Mary Nofford (Noffard), a member of Christ Church, Philadelphia. Married May 21, 1784.
2011 -- More Balabrega connections found, including marriage of Solomon's sister Julianna to
William Penn, a great-grandson of the colonial founder, in Philadelphia.
2011 -- Baltimore newspaper notice found, mentioning printer's assistant Solomon Balabrega
and his mother and sisters moving to Philadelphia.
2011 -- possible Balabrega surname connection revealed in 1822 Irish church
marriage record.
2011 -- Brega Surname Project established. Davis surname connection found,
via announcement of legal name change requested by William P. Brega in 1841.
