July 15th, 2011: Results from the first 37 marker kit returned (Kit #209045). Predicted haplogroup is R1b1a2 (R-M269), which is common among Western European populations.  Kit #209045 returned a match to an earlier 12 marker Brasfield kit that is not a member of the surname study. Haplotype is within the Atlantic Modal Cluster, but outside the Atlantic modal haplotype.

October 2013,  a Brassfield kit returned with a similar haplogroup prediction (R-M269) but variant haplotype to two earlier kits. This Brasfield haplotype, at the time, returned no high resolution STR surname matches, indicating the haplotype was rare. Haplotype is one marker outside the Atlantic Modal Cluster. DYS393 13>14 and DYS19 14>13.
