This project was started to discover if all Billsteins are related to each other.   Here are the various lineages represented in this project. The group from Rülfenrod and from Soest are Jewish and are not related through the direct paternal line.  However, there may be a maternal connection.  The family from Scharmbeck has no Jewish matches and does not appear to be Ashkenazi.  The J2 Billstein is related to the Billstein from Rülfenrod, but his ancestor was adopted, and he has no credible matches.  It's still not yet clear if this is a Jewish line and further SNP testing is recommended to make this determination.

Matches to the BILLSTEIN of Rülfenrod have also been invited to join this project until they can establish a project of their own.  I will try to add their pedigrees in the future.
