About us
This project is open to all testers or maiden names bearing the surname Belk, Belke, Belch, Balch, Boake, or alternate spelling. This surname and its alternates are suggestive to be Anglo-Saxon in nature and have the same meaning. On occasion, the surname is seen as Beth in records too.
Note: there is a separate surname project for Balch, yet in the broader context, the surnames are interchangeable.
The G Haplogroup
(G-M201, L89) Testers down from the Belk Brothers, John and William, that appear in colonial North Carolina pre-dating 1746 are apart of this hg. -- Their ancient ancestry origins are based in the middle east and one of the first people to leave Africa.
