The Beck Surname is presenting quite a challenge to find DNA matches. Out of 13 names now in our group, we have found only one match. This indicates that the actual name "Beck" may not be the original form of the name. So many came into the country during the early 1700's (largest majority through the PA area). Many or most of these "Beck's" were of German, Dutch, other European descent and the "root" name was a form of Beck. As they came into this country, their names were too hard to pronounce or spell and they Americanized their name to the shorter "Beck".
