About us
The Beahm DNA Project is for anyone from or closely related to any family with the name Beahm, Boehm, Beam, Beem, Behm, Böhm, or other variations. Through genetic testing and the sharing of genealogical research, we are exploring the origins of these families and how they fit together. So far, the project includes representatives of at least ten different ancestral Y-DNA (paternal line) groups, including one group with descendants of related 1700s Mennonite immigrants Jacob and Rudolph Boehm (who settled in Lancaster County, Pa.) and Samuel Boehm (who settled in the Shendandoah Valley area of Virginia), and another group that includes descendants of the Rev. John Philip Boehm (1683-1749) of Pennsylvania and of Michael Beam/Beem (circa 1755-1850).
