About us
Fall 2011: Awaiting testing for the Z36 sub marker of U152*. This is a marker discovered from analysis of the 1000 Genomes Project data by skilled genetic genealogy hobbyists.
Summer 2011: Samples have now been tested from male descendants from each of the three brothers who came to America.
The results show a definite match to the oral and paperwork records.
We are still looking for Barthmes men to test from a line that remained in Germany.
Location is in the Hunsreuck, near the Mosel River, about 90 Km South West of Koblenz.
The towns recorded for our lines ancestry are : Trarbach (on the Mosel), Beuren, OberKleinich, Wahlenau, Hochscheid.
These periods cover the mid 1500's to the 1750's.
Spring 2010: We have one Family Finder test result in. We are now open to creating a Family Finder project for any Barthmes relatives based on autosomal DNA.
Now we are not limited to only direct male line descendants.
Anyone male or female with a Barthmes surname ancestor is able to participate with Family Finder!
Fall 2009: The Barthmes YDNA line is U152 positive, and negative for L2 and other known sub markers.
