The Barilovits / Barilovic Project is open to all who are interested in the genealogy and origin of the Barilovits family surname or any of it's variant spellings. Research on historical documents from Hungary and Croatia ndicate that the Barilovits surname may be related to known 16th century Croatian noble families. The purpose of this project is twofold: 1- The project attempts to determine if Barilovits descendants from the village of Szentpeterfa, Vas, Hungary are directly related to the descendants of the Barilovic lineage in Croatia, or elsewhere. A positive result would also allow us to infer that the family name is truly derived from Croatian noble lines. 2- The project also attempts to compare the Barilovic family lines with the Barisevic family lines in Croatia and Hungary, because genealogical relationships appears to exist between the two families in Szentpeterfa, Vas, Hungary.
