About us
Prior to WorldFamilies closing, this project was hosted by them and in 2018 it was transferred back to FTDNA.
September 2020 saw a new administrator take over - not for the genealogy but for the Administration.
No matter where you reside in the world, if you have Bancroft blood in your veins, you are welcome. But be aware that it is mainly YDNA which is worked with and placed into family groupings.
If you are female, please ask your Bancroft males to take a YDNA test (as high as can be afforded) and they can be your proxy.
The reason for this is because the Y Chromosome is passed almost intact between fathers and sons and this can indicate branches and timings of the births of the common ancestor between YDNA matches.
To the left of the project's Activity Feed, you will see more headings. You will find more information in the various tabs for each heading.
