About us
The project started out of curiosty to see if the Baisden line of John Smith Baisden aka Jean Schmidt Baisden of West Virginia had a common male ancestor with James Basden of Isle of Wight County Virginia and Bermuda. The families hoped that the results would shed a clue on the ancestry of these two men. The DNA tests indicate that the two men are related. We just don't know how many generations to the common ancestor.
We are now seeking to learn how the Baisdens of all spelling variations are connected. Some questions we hope to solve are:
Did the surname start in one location or several?
Could it relate their profession?
Could it relate to the person(s)who employed them?
