All Bagwells or any reasonable spelling variation (i.e. Bagley) are welcome to join the project. Only males have Y-chromosomes, so only male Bagwells (or variants) can participatein the yDNA charting. If you are female, you can have a male Bagwell relative submit a sample for your line. To participate meaningfully, testees will need to share their direct male line ancestry back to the earliest known Bagwell in the form of a pedigree chart (FTDNA automatically excludes living persons). Many members have also used their sample to participate in the Family Finder test, which explores autosomnal DNA...that is, ALL branches of your family...but you will have to use your knowledge of your family to figure out how you are related to any of your Matches.
