About us
Welcome! ARNEY, ARNY, ARNIE, ARNI, ARNE, Erney, Earney, Erny, etc. The Arney DNA Project has been established to provide further genealogical support to Arney family researchers internationally. All those with Arney connections are warmly invited to join the project. The project is open to all Arney variants. The goal of the project is to determine which of the various Arney lines are related in a genealogically significant time frame.
Click the link above for more information of the project. Note: There is a known Deckard line that is really an Arney line from the common law marriage of John Arney and Sally Deckard. The children took their mother's name. We would like to get samples from that line!
NOTE: There is a canned "REQUIREMENTS" section on this page that is on every surname project page in FTDNA explaining the YDNA tests for searching your surname ancestry. While the YDNA tests are needed for good surname research, you are welcome to submit or join the mtDNA (maternal mitochondrial) and Family Finder (autosomal) tests to this project. The admin might be able to help you plan a next step for further research. Although pricy, you will get your best paternal results in this project with a BigY test and it is highly recommended. Always have an autosomal test with the bigY.
