About us

Archer is an occupational name, meaning that the original bearer was a fighting or military man who fought with the bow and arrow. This is an English surname and some bearers of the name may have Norman roots. Some Archers migrated to Ireland and Scotland by the thirteenth century. This project hopes to enable Archers to learn more of their genetic heritage and to help them make connections between long-lost cousins.
