Group Administrator: Charles Kerchner
Project Surnames:| R1b(U152+) | R1b1b2h | R1b1c10 | R1b-U152+ | | R-U152 | S28 | S28+ | U152 | | U152+ | Project Background: A project focusing of the R1b(U152+) haplogroup (aka R1b1b2h, U152+, or S28+), formerly R1b1c10 branch of the Y-DNA Phylogenetic Tree.
WHO CAN JOIN: Anyone who has been U Series U152 SNP tested by FamilyTreeDNA and found to be U152+ by FamilyTreeDNA. Or someone who has YSTR results with FTDNA, has been R1b Deep Subclade tested via FTDNA, and has been S28+ tested at EA, ... AND ... who is now ordering the U152+ test via FTDNA to confirm the R1b1b2h/R1b1c10 status within FTDNA's database. Individuals already in my broader R1b Project can matriculate to the new R1b1b2h/R1b1c10 Project once they learn they are U152+ by first removing themselves from the R1b Project and then joining the R1b1b2h/R1b1c10 Project, following the instructions below. Note to family groups: Only one representative member of a related family group or cluster should be joined to this project. Project Admins should not join whole groups of related individuals with nearly matching haplotypes since if done so in large numbers it could bias/skew the data analysis in this project. Thank you.
HOW TO JOIN THIS PROJECT: At this time you must have been tested either directly via FTDNA or indirectly via FTDNA via the NGS Genographic Project to join this project. Genographic Project customers must first do the free transfer of their results from the NGS database to FTDNA's database. See the "Learn More" link at the bottom of your Genographic Project personal page for how to do the free transfer of your test data to FTDNA or call FTDNA for assistance in doing the transfer. Once you have a personal account page at FTDNA, and you have been Deep Sub-clade SNP tested by FamilyTreeDNA and confirmed to be U152+ by FTDNA, to join this R1b1c10 (U152+ aka S28+) project sign/log in to your FTDNA personal account page and click on the blue JOIN button in the upper part of your personal page screen. On the projects page, scroll down and find the Y Haplogroup Projects section. Click on the R backbone haplogroup category. Then click on the R1b1c10 project link. You will then see a description of this project. Scroll down to the bottom and click on the small join button at the bottom of the R1b1c10 project description and join page. That is all there is to it.
Also, be sure to fill in your direct paternal line "Earliest Known Ancestor" field in the "User Preferences" section of your personal account page at FamilyTreeDNA otherwise a blank will display for that field in your entry. This entry should be based on the family's genealogical knowledge and information for the data in the Earliest Known Ancestor field based on the evidence, not just speculation. If you don't know the full name and specific details about your direct paternal line earliest known ancestor you could simply enter the surname of your direct paternal line earliest known ancestor in that field and or a country of origin if at least that is known. Also enter the latitude and longitude for your earliest known ancestor's origins so a pin will appear for your entry in the world map in the Y Results section display. Note to family groups: Only one representative member of a related family group or cluster should be joined to this project. Project Admins should not join whole groups of related individuals with nearly matching haplotypes since if done so in large numbers it could bias/skew the data analysis in this project. Thank you. If you have never been tested before either by FTDNA or the Genographic Project and want to be tested you need to order a YDNA test kit. Project participants are encouraged to upload their R1b1c10 test results to Ysearch.org to share their test data with a wider audience and to help world knowledge about this haplogroup. If you do so, be sure to set your Ysearch haplogroup field to read R1b1c10. There is an automatic link provided in your personal account record with FamilyTreeDNA to conveniently and easily upload/update your results to Ysearch. For new uploads or new YSTR updates, it is found in your Y-Matches section of your personal record. Otherwise use the Ysearch logo link found in the upper left frame of your personal FTDNA record seen after you log on to Ysearch. If you need assistance to do the upload or make Ysearch updates, contact FTDNA staff who can help you do it.
More information to follow as project grows.
