About us
The Goal of the Hileman Surname Reconstruction Project is to genetically discover common ancestors among the various Hileman (and spelling varients) family lines. By discovering the common ancestral links among the various lines, these family lines can be united. Through DNA testing the documentation roadblocks all researchers encounter may be overcome and the researcher will discover ancestral connections to other Hileman (and spelling variants) family lines. Also improved knowledge of where his/her ancestors geographically originated.
The testing will indicate whether their is an exact DNA match, no match at all or a match in only a certain number of markers indicating a possible genetic connection. Your DNA will be compared against all samples in the Hileman Surname Reconstruction Project. Once new cousins are found their family tree information can be added to yours.
This is an exciting adventure and your participation is very valuable and is appreciated.
Hal Hileman began this project in 2005 and penned this note in September 2012:
"I have learned much from my DNA research and my association with the HILEMAN DNA Project....and now have a hypothesis, based on my DNA results and matches, that my Hileman line may well actually be ARMSTRONG's, probably due to my GGGF (orphaned) and being taken in and raised by a HILEMAN family c1776. So this is the direction my research is heading at present."
