The DeWitt dna project was started 3-13-2008 with 3 members, John, Tom, and Floyd. John was a member of the Witt project, but did not match anyone in that project, he did however match Tom DeWitt in the DeWitt project. Since then many other DeWitt descendants have joined and are learning how they might be related (or not.)  Recently several DeWitts have discovered they descend from the John Witt family.
