Project Background
Designed to find common ancestor(s) among the separate branches of Pittman, Pitman, Pittmon families in the United States.
When written records don't exist (or can't be found), we are trying to prove/disprove a blood relationship by Y-37 (marker) DNA testing. We will include individual and distinct Pit(t)ma(o)n lines in this project to see if a blood relationship can be proven. We will gradually expand our project to include Pit(t)ma(o)n branches in England and Germany and Pit(t)mans of African-American background. Select the RESULTS tab (left side) to view those Pit(t)man familiy lines currently in the DNA Project. Select the Y-DNA RESULTS tab to see the comparison of specific "markers" between family lines. IF YOU CAN PROVE A BLOOD RELATIONSHIP TO ANY OF THE Pit(t)ma(o)n LINES TESTED IN THIS PROJECT, THEN YOU ARE ALREADY PARTICIPATING.
