About us
The NorthernNeck-VA DNA Group is for individuals with Ancestors in the Northern Neck of Virginia. For this project the Northern Neck is defined by Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, Westmoreland, King George, Stafford, Essex, and Middlesex counties. Individuals with a Y-Chromosome (Y-DNA) test; a mitochondrial (mtDNA) test; and/or an autosomal (Family Finder) test are welcome and encouraged to join this project (in addition to any others they wish).
In addition to this Group DNA project at FTDNA; there is a NorthernNeck-VA email Listserve on Rootsweb; a NorthernNeck Facebook Page; and a Northern Neck of Virginia Families Tree on Ancestry.com. It is anticipated that all of these we be used in conjunction to document Northern Neck Families. One key tool in this main object will be the results of various DNA tests. We will use the Listserve, the FTDNA website connected with this DNA Group and other means to document the DNA results that apply to our Northern Neck ancestors.
We expect to have 2 or 3 Admins for this project. For now your Admin is Jim Bartlett jim4bartletts@verizon.net
