Background

We are conducting the Kendall DNA Project. The project is open to all members of the Kendall, Kindle, Kindall families or any variant spelling.

The study is a Y-chromosome DNA surname study. The Y-chromosome only exists in males. It is passed from fathers-to-sons, virtually unchanged, for generations. Therefore, to “directly” participate you must be (1) male; either (2) carry the Kendall surname or a variation of it or (3) descend directly in an unbroken paternal line from a Kendall male.

One other requirement is you share your direct Kendall lineage. Sharing documented lineages make our interpretations easier when we can compare DNA results with proven lineages.

Ladies are extremely valuable to our study. Since they can not directly participate, they can represent (and persuade) their lineages “indirectly” by locating a male relative who fits the requirements to participate in the DNA project. We recommend the Y-DNA-37 test.

If you are interested in the DNA project or would like to learn more about the process, please contact me or review the FAQs at www.ftdna.com.

Thank you
