Kendall DNA Project- Background

Background

We are conducting the Kendall DNA Project. The project is open to all members of the Kendall, Kindle, Kindall families or any variant spelling.

The study is a Y-chromosome DNA surname study. The Y-chromosome only exists in males. It is passed from fathers-to-sons, virtually unchanged, for generations. Therefore, to be tested you must be male; either carry the Kendall surname or a variation of it, descend directly in an unbroken paternal line from a Kendall male or are a DNA match to a project member.

We also require you share your Kendall lineage.  Sharing documented lineages will make interpretations easier when a DNA match is located.
 
Ladies are extremely valuable to our study. Since they can not directly participate, they can represent their lineages “indirectly” by locating a male relative top participate on their behalf.  We recommend the Y-DNA-37 test.
