Project Background:
This project was started 4 November, 2005. I wish to provide updated information, results that incorporate member's privacy, and an ongoing initiative to attract new members.
In order for this project to work, it will require members to join - which will be a direct result of efforts by the Administrator and this group's members. |
Project Goals:
This project's main goal is to aid researchers in their quest for the earliest Hollister ancestor they can discover.
By grouping every project member's results together in a community-type setting, we can easily see who is closely related & share other genealogical research to find common ties in our family trees.
Ordering the kit and joining a project allows male descendants of a particular surname to preserve and protect their DNA sequence for future research. This is a particularly important step for research in general if you or someone you know is the last male descendant of your surname!!!
DNA research is accurate information you can rely on - no uncertain dates or places of birth here - we're talking about hard biological data! |

If you are not familiar with the National Geographic Genome project, it is worth the $15 to join (after you have done testing through FamilyTreeDNA!) Describes in detail the groundbreaking study underway & show general migration routes of your ancestor from Africa. |

DNA Test Results (Alleles) for Project Members
* Haplogroups in green have been
confirmed by SNP testing. Haplogroups in red have
been predicted by Family Tree DNA based on unambiguous results in the
individual's personal page. This has been placed on this GAP page for your ease
and convenience. Please note that for any predicted results we see no reason for
ordering a SNP test to confirm the Haplogroup. if a – is in the HAPLO field then
we feel that the comparative results are not clear and unambiguous and if the
kit holder wants to know their SNP with 100% confidence they may consider
ordering a SNP confirmation test.
