1. We need Van Matre volunteers to determine if the Jan Joosten and Jan Gysbertsen are related.
2. We have a participant from each of the 3 male branches of Joost Jansen's tree. We need an additional volunteer from each branch to see if the results are consistent within each branch.
3. Henry and John's descendants appear to produce identical results at the 25 marker level. Going to the 67 marker level increases the chances that we will get unique results for each branch of Generation 3 and 4 - that would help people who are uncertain which branch they descend from.
4. Find van Meteren volunteers from the Netherlands to see if we are related.

We have a second descendant from John Van Meteren. We still need another descendant form Isaac Van Meteren to tract down the mutation.

At this point I see three main goals for our research:
1. Find a Van Matre volunteer to determine relationship if any.
2. Find a descendant of Hendrik/Henry Van Meteren to volunteer. We already have a volunteer for each of his brothers: John and Isaac.
3. Try to determine where the mutation occurred (see Project News). Was it between Joost Jansen and one of his sons? Or perhaps it occurred in a more recent generation. Testing a 4th or 5th cousin of each of our two members could help narrow things down.
