2) Contribute to a database of TERRIOT genetic markers setting a "benchmark" for the surname, and differentiating various lines where there may be mutations;
3) Find links to Terriot names not yet documented by a paper trail, for example in France or Quebec;
4) Allow other researchers who may match to share genealogical data.
