At this time 12 participants who feel they descend from Rene Piatt of New Jersey are 25/25 matches to each other. This indicates, indeed, that they have a common ancestor within the past few generations. Four others are 24/25 matches to the majority. These other four are 24/25 matches to each other also, with the differences indicating branching of the lines. Three others are not a match to the majority but are 24/25 or 25/25 matches to each other. This group of three descends from John S Pyatt and Mary Katherine Snyder with John S Pyatt listed on his marriage license as a son of William Peatt and Mary Smith Peatt. However, it appears that John may have established a different haplotype for his descendants. Exactly why is not known at this time. He may be an adopted son or a grandson of William and Mary Smith Peatt.

Of the remaining participants who do not match, one may have received the Piatt name by adoption and the others may have descended from a separate immigration from England or Scotland. More work needs to be done on these lineages.
