The Pelton surname project is open to any who share a direct male Pelton ancestor and have a Y-DNA test. We are currently researching the paternal lines of the Pelton surname, trying to determine family relationships as well as trace back distant ancestors. The oldest known relative we have been able to determine is John Peton of Essex England who was born in 1616.
