mtDNA Haplogroup U8. This project is mainly for those who have already taken an mtDNA or mtDNAPlus test at FTDNA and the results show that they are in haplogroup U8 or have exact or close matches with known U8 members and are not otherwise classified. Other haplogroup U8 members may have transferred from the National Geographic Society Genographic Project. None of these members are required to order a test kit or take another test, although upgrading with mtDNARefine is highly recommended. Only order a test kit if you are new to FTDNA and have a maternal line relative in U8. If in doubt, ask first.
