A primary, relatively easy goal is to confirm Viking ancestry of the McCaskills, thereby establishing more soundly the story of Askell. Because of known migration patterns, the Project would like very much to have participants from, but not limited to, the following areas for the following reasons;

Scotland: to establish genealogical links with emigrants from Scotland North Carolina: to establish the degree of relationship with other U.S. immigrants.Australia: to measure the relationship with other branches of the familyCanada: to determine the degree of relatedness with other branches
