About us
We welcome any and all Kerfoot family members no matter how you spell it and no matter where you live now.
To be useful to you and useful to us, members ideally need to contribute a Y-DNA test: 1) if you are male and your all-male-line ancestors were called Kerfoot (or one of the variants) you should think about taking a Y-DNA test, or 2) if you are not one of these Kerfoots but you have one in your family, ask them if they would take a Y-DNA test so you can proxy for them in this project.
This is a Y-DNA project, at least at these early stages, but we may broaden it to include mitochrondrial DNA once we're established and we have enthusiasm from you members to do so. If you want to link your Kerfoot lineage to other branches, or would like to help investigate the origins of the name, please come and join us.
An ever-increasing number of Kerfoots are the subject of a one-name study. You can learn more at the Guild of One-Name Studies website and the Kerfoot one-name study website
