Q) Can I join The Jubbie-Genealogy DNA Project?
A) If you believe you are proven to be genetically related to the Jubbie/Strange or Thomas/Davies lineages, by yDNA, mtDNA, or atDNA,  then YES, you are welcome to request to join this project.   In addition, If you have one of the following surnames in your family tree then you are invited to write to the administrator to find out if your membership may be permitted: Askham, Bajic, Beards, Brown, Caswell, Cook, Davies, Dayman, Dixon, Duckett, Durant, Edmund, Etoll, Forsyth, Gardella, Gibbs, Gubbie, Harwood, Hornibrook, Howells, Hume, Jacques, Jakab, Jessep, Jones, Jubbie, Kilby, Little, Lomita, Matthews, Morgan, Morris, Mulligan, Nash, Nichols, Pegram, Perkins, Pickett, Piggott, Potter, Richards, Ridge, Rogers, Sharpe, Shirley, Smith, Southcott, Stamp, Strange, Thomas, Voss, Wares, West, Wheatley.

Q) How do I join The Jubbie-Genealogy Project?
A) If you would like to join the Jubbie Genealogy Project then please use JOIN tab which is provided above in blue.  If you have any questions regarding this project or this website then please contact the administrator using the email address listed to the left of this page.  

Q) What DNA tests are available and how much do DNA tests cost?
A) Y-DNA tests are for males only, as only men carry y-DNA, it traces the paternal line of your father, father's-father, father's-father's-father, etc.
MT-DNA tests are for females and males and tests mitchondrial DNA, it traces the maternal line of your mother, mother's-mother, mother's-mother's-mother, etc.
Family Finder tests (autosomal DNA or AT-DNA tests) are for females and males and tests autosomal DNA that was inherited from all of your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, over the last 5 generations of your family. This test also provides ethnicity information, also known as admixture, showing the different percentages of ethnicities  to which your DNA belongs.  This test also provides X-DNA results which come from the X-chromosomes of your parents; half of the father's X chromosome and all of the mother's X chromosome.  For further details of Family Tree DNA's various testing products and prices please visit their main page.  Prices begin as low as $69 and please note that members of this genetic genealogy project will be eligible for member discounts from time to time.  

Q) How is a DNA test conducted?
A) DNA samples for genetic genealogy purposes are extracted painlessly from cheek cells using a toothed cotton swab which is rubbed on the inside of the donor's cheeks.  Please see FTDNAs main webpage for some useful instructions on how to 'correctly' collect your own DNA sample.

Q) Are Project Administrators employed by Family Tree DNA?
A) The group administrator of The Jubbie-Genealogy Project is not paid by, or an employee, or affiliated with any of the following organizations: Family Tree DNA, GenebyGene, AncestryDNA, 23&Me, National Geographic's Genographic Project. 

Q) What accreditation does the Project Administrator have?
A) The group administrator of "Jubbie Genealogy" is a member of the International Society of Genetic Genealogy and also registered with The Surname Society as a surname project member.  The administrator has over fifteen years of genealogy experience and over three years experience as a genetic genealogy research.
